ndia national team will lock horns with Laos in a double legged AFC Asian Cup qualifier next month in their bid to book a place in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. The away leg will be played on 2nd June while the home match will take place in Guwahati on 7th June.
Laos are now busy preparing for the twin fixtures and will play a friendly against Nepal on Sunday. The Laos Football Federation announced the squad for the match a few days back and six players from the local club Lao Toyota are part of the roster. I-League champions, Bengaluru FC had defeated the club in the home fixture of the AFC Cup but were defeated in the away match.
Laos national team, which was coached by former Mahindra United gaffer David Booth recently, are now ranked 176th in the world. On the other hand, Stephen Constantine’s men sit on the 162nd position.
