Lal Babu Pandit has warned of taking action against the employees who dillydally while providing services to the service seekers during the government’s new administrative system of twelve-hour-long service which includes two shifts in a day.Minister Pandit said the 12-hour service has begun in two shifts—from 6:00 am to midday and from the noon to 6:00 pm at some government offices of the five development regions with huge workload –so that government could be more accountable to the public. The minister said,” The government has initiated the two-shift service programme due to the problems faced by service seekers, therefore, we expect the concerned government employees to work effectively in this regard.”He further informed that the two-shift programme was also intended on minimising the corruption as the huge crowd of service seekers gave a scope for corruption.Minister Pandit also said that currently the 12-hour service programme has been implemented on offices with huge pressure. Those include offices for passport, citizenship, survey office, land revenue office, licence office, foreign employment offices, electricity, water and telecom offices, among others. -
