A child drowned while he was swimming in a local pond in Kawasoti Municipality-7 in Nawalparasi district on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as eight-year-old Manish Mahato, son of Jit Bahadur Mahato of Kawasoti Municipality-7 in the district, according to police.
