The election of the civil servants’ trade union began from 9:00 am today. Chief Election Officer Geeta Prasad Timilsina shared information about this to the RSS. A total of 129 polling stations have been set up at 117 locations in all 75 districts across the country. Around 1,600 employees and 1,200 security personnel have been mobilised to conduct the elections. Civil servants above the officer-level and those heading the offices are not allowed to take part in the voting. Various trade unions within the civil service are taking part in the election held to choose an authentic trade union in bureaucracy. The voting will run until 17:00 pm today. It may be noted that the government announced a public holiday for civil servants today in view of the trade union election. -
